Change Network Port Name form EMx to IGBx in config file.
-
Hi everyone,
I have two pfSense. One has the Network Ports named as em(x) and the other has named as igb(x).
I want export the config of the first (emx) and import in the second (igbx).
I know that if I import the config of the first in the second, when the pfsense restart, I can change the Network Interfaces (Network Port) from Console, but can I do the following?
1.- Export the config of the first pfsense.
2.- Edit the config file with a text editor.
3.- Change the labels <if>igbx**</if>** in the <interfaces> section and the <if>igbx</if> and <vlanif>emx.100</vlanif> in the <vlans> section.
4.- Save the file.
5.- Import the modified config file in the second pfsense.It wil work?

yes, use something like notepad++ search for emx and change to igbx, save and import

@kiokoman, I think that I can't do this.
For instance, if there is a Certificate "...ssdfdsdf98s7fsem2hks8d7fem4dsff..." and I change em2 and em4 in all config file, I change the certificate too and It will not work, isn't it?

of course it will not work, you need to pay attention on what you change, you can't change it blindly, you need to open the config.xml, search and change it one by one

I think that only need change this:
"The labels <if>igbx</if>**** in the <interfaces> section and the <if>igbx</if> and <vlanif>emx.100</vlanif> in the <vlans> section"
Where "x" is a number.
Isn't it?
