Hi I am trying to send logs to a syslog server. That part is easy enough to setup however it doesn't formate with a source name. I have read https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Copying_Logs_to_a_Remote_Host_with_Syslog but it would seem the commands no longer valid with v2.2

      Can anyone help

syslogd does not support sending the hostname to a remote syslog server. It's up to the remote syslog server to determine the hostname my source IP address.

syslog-ng may do what you want, though that may be overkill.
