new install of pfsense 2.4.5 on a watchguard xtm800 it has 14 Ethernet ports and not one of them shows up. I have set it up so that dchp is off and I have set a static ip on em1 and when I plug in a network cable (known working cable) the interface doesn't show up. It shows that they are intel pro/1000 network cards (I think those are pretty common) but they are all down. interface_down.png I have a cable attached to em1 and as you can see it says it's down. Is there some driver package that I have to install to get them to work? Please let me know if you need any other info also remember I am only able to connect to the console. Oh and one other thing is I get link lights on the port that the cable is plugged into.

      Thanks,

      Mark

The link detection at the interfaces assign menu sometimes fails. Assign some interfaces then check the output of ifconfig at the command line to see which are actually active.

The ports on the expansion module are parsed first (em0-7) so the left most port labeled 0 is em8.
