RADVD stops working after a while
-
I've updated to a few different builds of 2.5.0 now and RADVD stops working after a while, maybe a day. Is this happening to anyone else or is there just something wrong with my install. I didn't have an issue with this in 2.4.3.

Need more info... snapshot version, routing logs (specifically stuff related to radvd), and the like.
There had been an issue with radvd that would cause it to stop working after about a day, but it has been resolved upstream in FreeBSD, and has made its way back to pfSense in snapshots over the past few days. If you're running an older snapshot (before 7/9/2020), you might try updating to see if the problem is fixed.

Ya, I did try upgrading to yesterdays build last night, it hung after mounting the partition. I ended up reverting back to my 2.4.4 checkpoint. (I meant 2.4.4 in the original post, but it is also true I didn't have problems with radvd in 2.4.3).

This old problem has not been solved. pf2.4.5-p1 This version also has this problem

@yon-0 what packages are you running and what troubleshooting have you done?

I saw on another forum for a related BSD based router distribution this (search for radvd on said forum):
"Somehow the kernel hits a limit for multicast join/leave in FreeBSD 12. We haven't had the chance to debug this further and there seem to be no relevant patches in FreeBSD."

This problem still exists in the latest version. i am running FRR for ipv6, My devices on the network often lose ipv6 access capabilities, it seems to be losing ipv6 gateway access
I just checked that the ip in the ipv6 gateway in the network card is lost. You must disconnect the network and reconnect to regain the gateway address.

assist mode has bug, it is often loss gateway push to lan.

I have problems with a missing IPv6-Gateway after suspend.
In Wireshark i dont see RA but non-windows-mashines are still OK.
After a windows-reboot, the RAs are visible and the Gateway is active.
Before i found this solution, the issue drives me crazy.
Maybe this is the problem here also?https://superuser.com/questions/1096344/windows-10-no-ipv6-ra-after-suspend

now RADVD can't start.
