Hi! I'm planning a substitution from an old SG-4860 to a more powerful XG-7100. Does someone have experience of backup configuration restoring from an SG-4860 to XG-7100? I think they use different interfaces name but I can easily correct the XML before the restore. Are there any other incompatibilities that I can have? Thank you

What is your usage scenario? The 7100 has a switch for the LAN and two SFP+ports.

you can use VLANs on the switch ports: https://www.netgate.com/resources/videos/configuring-netgate-appliance-integrated-switches-on-pfsense-244.html

Per many other posts if you open a ticket Netgate will help convert the config file.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Yup, if you're able to send is your old config just open a ticket with us and let us know which ports on the XG-7100 you would like to use for each defined interface.
We can convert it so you can just import it directly.
You don't need a support subscription for that.
