unbound interferes with data transfer
-
network interrupts have priority -92
unbound threats have priority 22 to 20.
occasionally the unboundtreats jump to a higher percentage of cpu usage than the network interrupts.
the total cpu utilization is less than 10 percent.
if the cpu utilization of unbound is higher than the network interupts, the transfer rate drops from 800mbit to 200mbit.
can this be changed?! -
Wow :
Your system throughput throttled down a lot and still 8% of the CPU time was consumed by interrupt handling. That seems huge, to me.
The process priority is probably set/changed by the real time scheduler (only), something deep inside the kernel. Not something that can be changed using pfSense -GUI.
Device drivers, as 'igb' are your NIC's, can't be set using 'nice'.Probably not related but : these are all set :

@gertjan
thanks for the answeroption: checksum offloading was enabled
option: tcp segmention was enabled
option: large recieve was not enabled because not supported.
without these options the interrupt load was even higher.
can these strong fluctuations also have to do with an overload of the upload?
max upload isp 50mbit
max upload pfsense up to 80mbit -
