dhcpleases Other suffix in DHCP lease for abc.ctg

DHCP Leases (both expired)
100.65.0.220 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx abc
192.168.60.126 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx abc.ctg100.65.0.x - LAN
192.168.60.x - VLANBecause of the above, Macbook Pro abc cannot get an IP on the LAN. It can only get an IP on the VLAN.
abc's computer name is only abc without the suffix.
I change abc's name before. That solved the problem, but after some weeks, abc cannot get a IP on the LAN again. There are many entries of "dhcpleases Other suffix in DHCP lease for abc.ctg" in the DHCP System Log.Please advise. Thank you.

Hi. I fixed it as this guy suggested. The issue might have been caused by this host on my lan whose hostname was set to hostname.lan instead of just its hostname, but removing the .lan part and restarting dhcpd wasn't enough to fix it. After emptying the leases file as explained above, I'm getting no more "Other suffix in DHCP lease for ..." entries in the system log.

Thank you. I found something similar to the suggested solution. The problem did not come back after I changed the laptop name a second time. There was no .local behind the name. It was a MacBook Pro. Anyway, I will follow the suggest solution the next time it happens again.
