Carp with BGP - secondary loses the gateway
-
We have 2 pfsense boxes set up with BGP.
Primary box:
WAN:
4.16.216.134
GW: 4.16.216.133Secondary box
4.16.115.210
GW: 4.16.115.209Carp address: 4.15.227.2
The carp address shows up at both boxes as MASTER.
The secondary now no gateway when you look at the WAN settings.
But does show the primarys gateway when you look under routing. When I tracert to both ip's it going over diverse networks so it looks like its working.
Is this normal?
What happens when I shut down the primary will it just update its gateway?I am confused here.

BGP and NAT are two different systems
on BGP you have neighbor not gatewayhow many BGP sessions you have with your providers?and which ip is recognized by your provider for BGP session?
