      Total n00b

I have a SG-2220 that will not update, or load without errors.

      Main errors:
[ERROR] [pool nginx] cannot get gid for group 'wheel'
      [ERROR] FPM initialization failed
fcgicli: Could not connect to server(/var/run/php-fpm.socket).

      CPU: Intel(R) ATOM(TM) CPU 2338 @ 1.74Ghz
      Checking config backups consistency...ugen0.4: <General UDisk> at usb0 (disconnected)

Synchronizing user settings...pw: group 'wheel' does not exist
      done.
      Starting WebConfigurator...failed!
fcgicli: Could not connect to server (/var/run/php-fpm.socket).
      pfSense 2.4.5-RELEASE (Patch-1) amd64
      Boot complete

From YouTube videos I gather that I might need to reinstall system using dd in single user mode. And before I go any further I need some help on best way to proceed.

Inserting the USB I made it upgraded the system, but left the above errors intact. Anyone? Help!
      TIA

Re-installing the firmware does not require single user mode. You boot from the recovery image into the installer which the SG-2220 will do by default if booted with a valid USB drive inserted.

Open a ticket with us here to make sure you have the correct recovery image:

@stephenw10 Hi and thank you for responding. Well, must be an invalid image? As I followed those exact directions from the ticket advice received on Friday. The system upgraded, but left intact no gid for 'wheel'. The new installer upgraded my system from 2.4.4 to 2.4.5 from the logs. And the pdf documentation downloaded rendered an english text, with a russian table of contents. That is the kicker, I can't search it properly. So must be invalid. I'll open a new ticket, try again. So glad you responded so quickly!
