      Hi,

i want to use the (unused?!?) local6 facility for custom logs, so i created an entry in /etc/syslog.d/pingometer.conf

      local6.* %/var/log/pingometer.log

/var/log/pingometer.log also exists with usual permissions (root.wheel 600). After restarting the syslog daemon (and even after restarting the firewall)

      logger -p local6.notice -t sensenmann testentry

should write an entry to /var/log/pingometer.log - but it will still be appended to /var/log/system.log

      Why?

      Greetings,
      Joerg
