Access to PC via RDP via old pfSense but not new one
-
Hi all,
Having a weird issue when trying to access a W10 PC (setup as a basic home server) via RDP via a new pfSense setup.
The existing pfSense (VM on the above PC) works fine.
The PC I access the server from is directly plugged into the broadband router because for some reason I can't get COD to get a better than moderate Nat type. As mentioned it connects via RDP on the VM pfSense totally fine.
I have setup another standalone pfSense PC with the same config as the VM version (restored from backup) however I am not able to connect to the W10 PC via RDP even though it is plugged in the exact same ports as the old one.
Not sure if it should even work or could it be to do with the original pfSense being a VM on the same host PC?
It's not a huge deal as I will probably put my gaming PC back behind pfSense. I am wanting to run it standalone now because I get hassled when I reboot the host PC because apparently kids can't live without internet these days. LOL. I am also needing to free up a PCIe port after I remove the NIC.

Probably need a diagram to diagnose that.
There are potentially some significant differences between a VM and real device espacially when what you're trying to access is the VM host. It's probably something in the hypervisor setup.
