Hi All - please forgive quite a noob at this. I am in remote Kenya and we have a very limited internet connection. I have setup pfsense, new install and can't seem to resolve DNS. Would like DNS Resolver to work so that I can use pfBlocker to cut down on traffic.

I have 2 SIM routers (7mbit/s each max) going into a TP-Link Load balancer and from their they go into the pfsense firewall. I've opened up the WAN and LAN any, any, any. Using DNS Resolver - All - All

When I nslookup from a laptop on the LAN I get dns request time out.

Only way to get online is for me to hardcode my DNS to 8.8.8.8

      Where am I going wrong?

@junebuhg The pfsense community wants to help. But it is hard to help you without being able to see the full picture.

Please show screenshots of the following:

        • LAN firewall rules
        • WAN firewall rules
        • Any NAT outbound rules
        • Any NAT port forward rules
        • DNS resolver settings page
        • DNS servers on the General Setup page
        • LAN interface settings page
        • WAN interface settings page
        • If using DHCP, the DHCP settings page for LAN

What is the IP address and netmask the WAN interface is on?
