SG-1000: upgrade to RC?

I have 2 appliances, SG-1000 and SG-1100, both on pfsense-2.4.5p1

I want to test the RC on the SG-1000. When I switch to "Next stable version (21.02RC)" things fail:

 pkg update -f

Tried switching back to stable, rerun update, etc ... pls advise.

@sgw pfSense plus RC builds do not yet exist which is why it fails. The repo is empty.
