I know -- a gazillion posts about this but I've looked through what seemed to be the main ones and still having an issue where all I see is a search bar --- no packages any more --- used to work perfectly

      screenshot_4491.png

I connected directly to the console, ran (13) Update from console and saw the following messages - lots of stuff not found....if anyone has any insights, I'd appreciate it. I'm running a Netgate SG-3100 with 2.4.5-RELEASE-p1

      Thanks in advance

Note the v21_02_armv7-core in the URL.

        "v21_02_armv7-core" is not "2.4.5-p1".

Take into account that - see all the other stories about "3100" - the recent major update (aka 2.5.0 or now known as "v21_02_armv7-core") : the reposition for the "3100" has been 'taken down' temporarily to solve an issue.

        Goto :

        039c6b21-6c11-4727-9f4c-17be8bcdc92b-image.png

and select the "Previous stable state (2.4.5 ....) and you should be fine.

The new "v21_02_...." will be available soon.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Thanks so much for quick reply First of all, what you suggested worked so thank you for that.

The 2.4.5 version is marked "deprecated" so am I to assume at some point that I should be going back to the new version?

Also, given that my system indicates that I'm on this new 21.02, should I be reverting back to this at some point to get a new version?

          Cheers

            @dhjdhj

The Default "Branch" is always indicating/pointing to the latest packet repos.
That is not always an indication of what firewall version you are currently running.

The Version field on the main page dashboard says what version you are running.

If you chose to stay on 2.4.5-p1 for a while , you need to switch to the "Deprecated" packet repos , in order to get your running (now deprecated version) , and packet repos in sync.

Thanks. I guess that if the default branch was pointing a "newer" distro, I assumed I'd be getting notified of updates for it.

I didn't particularly choose to stay on the older version --- I just didn't know I had to, to have the package manager work properly

              Cheers

For now the update for SG-3100 appliances has been pulled back (not available online) while the pfSense team is developing and testing a bug fix. The pulling down of the latest update repo will likely "confuse" your SG-3100 box. The SG-3100 uses a different CPU (a 32-bit ARM processor) than some other Netgate appliances and the CE build (which is x86-64 only). The bug affects the ARM appliances only.

So pointing your box to the older 2.4.5 rep will let is see packages for that branch.
