Recover via WebGUI feature
-
I see a lot of users are using recover config.xml process and also saw mentions about a full blown feature to allow users to do so.
Wonder if:
- it's feasible
- there is feature request to do so
In general would this community feel this is a good feature request?
-
What process are you referring to?
If it's "recover config.xml" in the installer, then it can only be in the installer because by the time you install and get to the GUI, the drive with the old configuration is overwritten.
If it's on another drive somewhere else, I don't see it being a common enough need to make a GUI for it. There is already the ECL mechanism for grabbing a config from other media at boot in an automated way.

I was thinking like we have an option "upgrade" in case of unsuccessful upgrade we would have an option "downgrade"
-
No, that is not viable.

It was more like a dream :)
(On the 'ceph' project we've been taking about "downgrade" feature for a long time and still talking...)
But it's a nice dream !
