Accessing Vigor 130 webgui
-
I am using the fine Vigor 130 as a bridge and it works flawlessly. It is possible I understand to access the webgui when it is in bridge mode by tinkering with VLAN tags. There are quite a few web pages on this but most have somewhat contradictory information. Here's my main question: the Draytek page here
https://www.draytek.com/support/knowledge-base/5212
says to use tag 0, and the range is 0 to 4095. But the range for VLAN tags on pfsense 2.5.0 is 1 to 4096, so I can't enter 0.
I tried setting the customer VLAN tag on the Vigor to 2 but then it will not connect to the ISP.
How does one achieve the outcome of being able to see the webgui with a pfsense? I am aware that the Vigor needs to be on a different network to the LAN.
All help appreciated.

I have successfully used this method to access the webgui for a bridged Vigor 130 in a PPPoE connection.

Mmm, vlan tag 0 is invalid. But confusingly people often use that to mean untagged which is not at all the same thing but I would try that first.
I don't a V130 but I previously used a V120 and that had management available as untagged. You just needed a source IP in the right subnet as that doc shows.Steve

Here's my setup. For reference, the Vigor is on it's own interface. Obviously adjust each interface for your own.
Vigor 130
Lan -> General Setup
1st IP Address: 192.168.2.1
1st Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server: DisabledPFSense
What is connected where:
vtnet0 - connected to Vigor 130
(vtnet0 is also shown against the WAN assignment for PPPoE). You should still be able to assign vtnet0 (or whatever your PPPoE is assigned to) against another interface to access.
vtnet1 - LANInterfaces -> Assignments:
vtnet0: Modem - Static IPv4 - Address 192.168.2.20/24
vtnet1: LAN - Static IPv4 - 10.0.0.1/8Firewall -> NAT -> Outbound
