@dennis_s
I've performed an upgrade at work on a router running 20.10-1 using the update script here: https://docs.netgate.com/tnsr/en/20.10/updating/updating.html Everything went well. I'm enjoying the CLI style config output but I am a little perplexed on how I might get to the shell from the tnsr cli. I used to run "shell sudo ..." commands and I see that "shell" was removed to allow "show" to be abbreviated. Maybe this is by design, but in the past I have exited the cli or run shell commands like "tnsr-diag". -
@wilsonbaja Yeah, people wanted
sh
to be an abbreviation forshow
so habitual show commands would work soshell
had to go away.You now need to specify the namespace you want like this:
host shell sudo ...
dataplane shell sudo ...
-
@derelict Yeah, that makes perfect sense and a good change. I've had to retype more than once to complete "sh". I just didn't see it in the docs very clearly. Is there any difference in entering the shell via the dataplane shell command rather than host shell? I couldn't see a difference in "env".

@wilsonbaja Nevermind, I just RTFM.... https://docs.netgate.com/tnsr/en/latest/basics/namespaces.html?highlight=namespaces
