While trying to fix a problem with FTP, I upgraded from 2.2.1 to 2.2.6. Then it seems my NAT configuration went to hell.

I was previously using P/ARP for all the virtual IPs which are either incoming NAT port forward or NAT 1:1, but for some reason P/ARP doesn't work anymore?

I change each one from P/ARP to If/Alias, and boom, suddenly the external NAT works again with no other changes.

What the heck is a point-point minor release doing, changing major software functionality, and breaking things that were working just fine before?

Nothing significant changed there. Proxy ARP VIPs still work for NAT like they always have. At some point in 2.2.x there was a problem people had where using Proxy ARP VIPs could crash the OS, but that was fixed in 2.2.5 and wouldn't have altered the functionality of Proxy ARP VIPs.

Without more info to go by, it's hard to speculate as to what might have happened.
