I have an SG-2220 with integrated LTE modem. I'm on a fresh 2.4.5-p1 install. After a reboot, there's no PPP connection.

When I access -> Interfaces -> PPP -> ppp0 and press the Save button with the existing settings, it starts working. I've used Cellular in the past, on something 2.4.x and didn't have this issue.

I've noticed there's no ppp0 interface or mpd5 running on reboot.

I've tried running stuff from /etc/rc.<item> to trigger ppp with no luck. Any suggestions to get this working?

I've reimaged the device to an old 2.4.4 ADI image then upgraded to 2.5.1 and now to 21.02. I've the same issue. PPP doesn't start unless I save existing settings.

Solved. I went into interfaces this time and pressed SAVE. The interface was already enabled but saving it again did the trick. Now the interface comes back online after every reboot. I guess it's a bug.

@netnewb2 said in SG-2220 w/ LTE, Cellular doesn't work on reboot:

            I guess it's a bug.

If you have 10 minutes, you'll be able to remove the word 'guess'.
And replace it with '' or 'not a'.

            Like this :
            Make a backup right now.
Access the console or SSH and use option 15. The idea is : put in place a backup made just before you edited the assignments - just before you hit that last (double !?) save.

Copy the /cf/conf/ config.xml file to a save place, like /root/filea.xml
Do the second "save" (or you missed the Apply ? ), and take the /cf/conf/config.xml file to /root/fileb.xml

            Do a diff :

            diff /root/filea.xml /root/fileb.xml

            You get something like

            4534,4535c4534,4535
            < <time>1617272492</time>

            > <disabled></disabled>

In this example I de activated a gateway inSystem > Routing > Gateways, saved it, and then I had to hit Apply.

            What changed for you ?

@gertjan I went ahead with the config. I've tried now to rollback to a previous config with the bug, but I don't think I guessed it. Thing is, the issue was there with 2 fresh installs and 2 upgrades. I'm certain the interface was already enabled prior to hitting save.
