I am looking for multigigabit network card (2.5Gbe and/or 10Gbe) to work with pfsense. There is any way to add driver to the system? I tried and failed the following cards:

      • Asus xg-c100c (2.5/5/10 Gbe single port card)
      • Syba Dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express PCI-E Network Controller Card 10/100/1000/25000 Mbps RJ45 LAN Adapter Low Profile Bracket

I can not find the neither official compatibility list nor hardware installation procedure (both cards I listed do have FreeBSD drivers!)

      Thanks :)

Yes however, you would need to recompile ... not for the faint of heart. Had you seen this: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/hardware/index.html

You cannot go wrongly using Intel NIC or what's suggested in the hardware documents.

@nollipfsense Thanks for your response. There is a recompile manual? Can I use my “standard” Ubuntu environment or it should be FreeBSD?

Google or your favorite search engine would be your friend for find a manual or tutorial ... even YouTube can help, and of course, it must be FreeBSD 12.2 ... good luck!

What chipsets do those NICs use? They are probably Realtek or Aquantia. Both have drivers available in 2.5.
