      Hi everyone,

      looking for some advice please?

I am based in the UK, and have a Full Fibre Internet service from local ISP BT based on 900Mbps(Down)/110Mbps(up). BT like many ISP's still use PPPoE with Dynamic allocated public IP Address on the WAN interface.

I want to expose a service on the inside of my network to the outside using 1:1 Nat. I have read the guides and plenty of information on setting up such a NAT, but the one thing that always ruins my plans is the VIP and its IPV4 Default Gateway.

Because my Public IP is not fixed and is dyanmically allocated, I do not have the option of using the current dynamic public IP address, as it could change at any time, and my NAT would stop working.

So I was wondering if there is a way to tie the VIP to the WAN Interface, or not use a VIP and direct the NAT to the WAN interface??

Or really any other possible way of getting this working as I am now reaching the end of my knowledge on pFsense.

Thanks for any help or advice in advance,.

      Gary

What 'VIP' are you talking about? Do you have got additional public IP besides the WAN PPPoE?

@viragomann Hi thanks for replying. I am afraid I only have one Public IP. So I am guessing it cannot be done?

Oh yeah, now I see what your issue is! I didn't realize, that the 'WAN address' alias can not be used in NAT 1:1.

You will have to go with normal port forwarding. There you can select 'WAN address' from the destination droptown, which works with the dynamic IP.

The outbound NAT is set anyway correctly to the single WAN address.
