Notification Providers beyond email

Re: Time to have push notification?
Hi there
as mentioned in this thread quite some time ago - apprise supports notifications to pretty much all notification clients..
would it be possilbe for this to be added by default, since then all users would have huge flexibility in terms of which notification provider they can use and it would also mean pfSense devs wouldn't have to maintain each provider individually.
Seems like a win-win to me?

Following on from my prior post I have a query - I understand a little of how open source works - features get developed according to resources, priorities etc etc.
This feature is something I'm really feeling like I'm missing. As such I wondered if I were to crowd source/fund myself a developers time to do this what exactly would the requirements be on pfSenses side?
Would it hypothetically be a package feature or something added to the OS itself?
Depending on the above answer, what languages would be required of a developer to accomplish something that would be acceptable to pfSense for inclusion?
Would appreciate any thoughts or feedback as I'm pretty much clueless on coding!
Thanks in advance

You can open a feature request: https://redmine.pfsense.org/
Looks like apprise is written in Python. It also looks like people have run it in FreeBSD but I don't see a FreeBSD port for it which would make it far easier to create a package from.
There would also be some PHP work to integrate it with pfSense.Steve
