      known plugin

Depends on what type of PCI you plugged it in ;)
      Not all can deliver 1Gbit.

regular PCI is working at 1GB, I think it is something with freebsd but my knowledge is very limited on that os.

FWIW, my Qoton mini PC has 4 Intel NICs. It has no problem running at 7 - 800 Mb. Here's a recent speedtest.

PfSense running on Qotom mini PC
i5 CPU, 4 GB memory, 32 GB SSD & 4 Intel Gb Ethernet ports.
        UniFi AC-Lite access point

        I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

Is the card plugged into a 32 or 64 bit slot?
Are there other cards on the bus?
Same kind of slot in the pfSense and Windows system?

No slots. It's a single board computer. Regardless, pfsense has no problem at those speeds.

                this is the box specs:

it has 2 PCI slots both in use with 2 Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop Adapter.
the bus is not wide enough to do that with 2 nics?

PCI 32bit 33 megahertz will get you 133MBps. I have a suspicion that both slots share the bus based on you numbers.

You may need to populate the 16x pci-e slot with a NIC if you can run without a video card.

I have not seen a 1x card with 2 ports.

seems reasonable... like sata bus speed shared between all disks.
pci-x 4 port card sure sounds like the solution.

is this recommended? INTEL PRO/1000 PT QUAD PORT PCIe
                    and also, Thanks 😊

I use a similar card and it works well. Others may know about that card.

                      Glad to help. Good luck.
