I created an alias and used it in a firewalling rule. I then updated the rule so that it doesn't refer to the alias anymore. However, when I try to delete the alias I get the following error message:
Cannot delete alias. Currently in use by "Rule Description".

The problem persist after rebooting the firewall. Is there any way to delete the alias ?

      Thanks.

        How did you updated it?
I need to reproduce it step-by-step.

I updated the firewall rule from filter packets destined to "alias" to filter packets destined to "! another alias" using the web UI.

I can't reproduce the problem myself. I restored the original config using a backup, and this time I have been able to delete the alias after updating the firewall rule.

@bensense you need to disable or replace or delete your aliases in all your floating and interfaces rules. Then you can delete your aliases.
