      I've had 2 domains in the DHCP server "Domain search list" field, separated by semicolon, for a long time. Since upgrades to 2.5.1 and 21.05 those search domains are no longer being picked up by DHCP clients. The problem exists for normal clients as well as those in the Static Mappings list. For those in the Static Mappings, I've also tried putting the domains in the reservation, but it doesn't help there either.

        Just because the client doesn't use them - doesn't mean dhcpd didn't offer them.. I do believe window clients have problem with this.

        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/services/dhcp/client-search-domain.html

        I would validate via just sniffing the dhcp offer being sent that your domains are in there.

          @mclaborn

          Do a packet capture to see what's actually happening.

          I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

            You are quite right. I should have checked that first. I can see the list being sent out as DHCP option 119. Bad assumption on my part.

            Now to find out what happened to my client. (Not Windows, thank goodness.)
