Will 6100 replace 5100 when 6100 base is on the 5100's price tag? Does 6100 have a switching chip like 7100, or no this like 5100?

@abcnew Blog reads: "and high-performance LAN connectivity (4 discrete, unswitched 2.5 Gbps LAN ports)", so NOT like the 7100.

            Thank you, @akuma1x

I think this means 6100 is the successor of 5100 only.

@abcnew Looking at the Netgate Product page to me the 6100 looks to be the replacement device for the 7100 DT as it's no longer on the Device list...

Can one of the pros explain to me, how are the IPERF and IMIX traffic performance so much better on the 6100 than the 5100, if they have the same processor specs - Quad core Atom C3558 @ 2.2 GHz? Is it the network port speeds being higher, or what? Thanks!

@akuma1x The perf numbers you are seeing on the 6100 are with the latest version of pfSense Plus (21.05). We are working to update the numbers for the other appliances.

                    SG-5100 some GBit Ports, SG-6100 21GBit, 210GBit, 4*2,5GBit.

This is a very nice Setup and with the new optimised Engine it gets more pps out the CPU Cycle.

The SG-5100 perform altho better with 21.05 but is limitet to his GBit Ports.

Any reason why you don’t sell a rack mount kit, I’m sure people would want to rack mount them rather than having them sit on shelves.

                      The manufacturer lists one.

I'm not sure what you mean by "The manufacturer lists one" but it looks like the plastic shell can be unscrewed, and just guessing from the sizes listed, but it looks like the size of this item is 1U without the feet? Put me down as interested in putting this on a rack as well (ideally next to my modem, but that's going to be a custom fitting!).

                        Also, are those antenna mounts?

Oh, nice! Well, I suppose that means we could buy the rackmount kit from the OEM, but it also means that appropriate hardware mounting points are likely already on the body.

I don't need wifi6 -- if it was 6E, that might have been interesting enough for a change in plans, but this is good to know (and not surprising). 5G as a connectivity backup plan would be .... interesting.
