@jimp I have a problem in snort, it does not start the service.
I applied the 2 patches mentioned, until the support staff accessed my appliance and I still have snort stopped.

@luketa is Snort exiting on signal 10 or signal 11?

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

@luketa If you see that link I posted, it doesn't seem like it will be very fixable. Try Suricata instead, they are similar. Also, it's not PHP related if the PHP process isn't what is crashing.

              Yes, try Suricata instead.

Although it may be affected by the same issue I've yet to see it if so. I have had Suricata running on an SG-3100 for some time without issue.

Good news for Snort users on the SG-3100! The Netgate team has pulled the latest Snort fix for the Signal 10 problem into the pfSense+ 21.05.1 branch: https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/12157#change-55832. So you should see an updated Snort package show up soon.
