SG-1100 Upgrade ends with "no device tree blob found"
-
I purchased a SG-1100 in May and this morning the update LED was blinking so I initiated an update from the console. 20 or so minutes into the update, it asked for something (possibly a reboot), then timed out when I didn't answer. I tried finishing the update via the GUI but the GUI update was locked. I did a reboot from the console and got a "no device tree blob found" error. I got the same error when I selected single user boot mode or the second kernel so I was unable to run fsck as suggested in another post.
A different post suggests downloading a fresh image but that appears to require a support ticket and I don't have a support contract. There must be some way to restore my SG-1100 short of buying a new one.

Where ?
Link ?
Firmware for Netgate devices can't be downloaded like that.
You receive it by mail.
After 'asking' for it.
By using their ticket system.
But ....that appears to require a support ticket and I don't have a support contract.
Spot on : Netgate devices, as long as they are technically supported, which has nothing to do with the sales warranty, will receive a new copy of the latest 'firmware'.
( note : I'm just a user like you).In one of the zillion post here on the forum you'll find the place where you can create a Netgate support ticket.
Normally, they reply faster as you can click on the 'Send' button. -
You don't need a support subscription for a re-install image. Just open a ticket: https://go.netgate.com/
Re-installing is what I would recommend from there. It cannot access a dtb file so the upgrade must have been incomplete.
