      Hi folks,

wrestling through some WAN throughput issues with my initial setup of a XG 7100 1U.

      Setup 1:

PC direct connected to internet provider modem. Bandwidth test with internet providers server = ~900Mbps

      Setup 2:

      modem -> XG-7100 -> PC

I'm using Eth1 with the default WAN setup connected to the modem
and one of the LAN ports for the PC.

Repeat the throughput test, and i get a burst to about 800Mbps, then decays immediatly to 200Mbps.

between two PCs on the LAN, i get ~900Mbps. It looks like whenever routing is encoutered my throughput can't maintain more than ~200Mbps.

All cable runs are < 50ft CAT 6.

      What i've tried:

      • using the PCIe riser + a Intel NIC 1Gbps as the WAN port (no change)
      • SFP+ to RJ45 1Gbps in ix0 to the modem (worse throughput)
      • replaced all cat6 cabling

This looks like a queueing problem that is CPU bound, but I don't know for sure

tried a factory reset, used the wizard to setup. WAN connected to modem, and just one PC connected to LAN.

Same results: peaked at about 800Mbps, finished with average of 277.6Mbps

That level of throttling is almost always something low level like a speed/duplex mismatch or an IP address conflict.

Check Status > Interfaces for errors/collisions especially when using the expansion card.

Check the system logs for any errors shown.
