      Adding insult to injury with Netgate's refusal to backup their new 6100 performance metric claims with a money-back guarantee as discussed in the original thread, the same VP, Scott Davis, who refused to do anything also locked that thread from further comment. This type of behavior compounded by censoring criticism is incredibly discouraging. The SG-3100 router and pfSense software itself is generally good and tech support is as well -- but this treatment by sales and customer service makes it impossible to do business with them. I have a left a comment about all this in an Amazon review as well. Caveat emptor.

      I suspect Netgate will likely delete this post. We shall see.

        @bldnightowl With Comcast 1.2Gbps, someone is bound to buy the 6100 with it and post a review on its performance. As far as Netgate sales policies go, It’s their company and their decision. About the only thing you can reasonably do is buy, wait, roll your own, or choose another mfg and move on. Personally, I would order it if the specs meet my needs and then sell it if I decided it didn’t perform to my liking. Aren’t they supply constrained and batches due the the global shit show?

          @jpvonhemel Waiting on reviews or availability from a 3rd party is exactly what I'll have to do, you're right, because I refuse to buy it under these policies. Certainly it's Netgate's decision to behave this way, as it is mine to not give them my money and let others be warned of their behavior. Even if I do get the 6100, I'm going to have to sell my SG-3100 to try to recoup some of the cost. I'm just regretting ever doing business with a business that acts this way -- but also really dreading switching platforms.

            @bldnightowl Businesses are in business to make money and profit. There is nothing wrong with that They develop and maintain CE so there is an opportunity to for those who chose to buy used gear, or roll their own. They offer hardware to meet others usecase. You’ve made it patently clear you aren’t happy, but your posts beating a dead horse seem quite petulant. Good luck finding what you are looking for.

                @bldnightowl

                where i came form (B2B) we handle this (your posts I & II) like professionals means
                the law firm sends a letter and under normal circumstances we can settle it out of court
                bottom line everyone is happy on their end

                when you run your box for fun (private / lab whatever) in other words your case is in the field of B2C you have to read the fine print of their T&Cs concerning your purchase and your proclaimed money-back-guarantee.

                In other words what does your contract say about money-back-guarantee, or are you just quoting some kind of marketing paper.

                as a corporate owner a do not agree or even be happy with all the things netgate does, but hey last time i checked it's a free country and you and I can use whatever hardware and whatever software we want so why don't you leave them alone and don't use their product anymore. as simple as it is.

                go ahead and try that f%&$§ stunt that you are pullin here with cisco, nortel, baracuda (pic any major player on the market) on a public reachable forum, I am pretty sure you'll get your 5 minutes of fame in court real quick.

                a friendly reminder

                I know of no other way to discourage a business from bad behavior than to shine a light on it for others to see and take my money elsewhere.

                this is not the way it should go.

                NP

                    I say we take off and nuke the entire post from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

                      I am going to lock this thread as you have received an answer to your questions through the support ticket you had open.
