      Hi,

I have this mobo sitting idle:
      http://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/h77m/

It has an Intel I5 processor & 8gb of ram.

      I bought this nic card:
      http://www.amazon.com/Intel-1000-Dual-Server-Adapter/dp/B000BMXME8

I am not sure if this will fit on my mobo (doesnt look like it).  Before I fry the board & have a paperweight, will that work?

      Thanks,
      Rich

Yes, you can "fit" a PCI-E x4 card in to a PCI-E x16 slot without any "hassle"

In the part description you can read the following statement to:
          - Compatible with x4, x8, and x16 full-height PCI Express slots
