I have what appears to be a partially broken upgrade from 2.1.5 to 2.3. Attempting to upgrade to 2.3 to 2.3_u1 doesn't work, attempting to install packages doesn't work. I am getting a php error (submitted crashdump).

Digging into it, and comparing 2.3 i386 to my working 2.3 amd64, I see the non working has a /usr/local/inc/pkg:
      -rw-r–r--  1 root  wheel  6324 Aug 29  2014 patches.inc

Where as my amd64 has one dated April 6.

I would assume this is [part of] my problem. I don't know if there is any differences between the php for i386/amd64, and would like to grab the version from 2.3-Release off github (as opposed to trying to extract it from an install image)

Could someone either tag 2.3, or let me know which revision is 2.3-Release so I can grab the file I need?

P.S. I realize if I have one file that wasn't updated correctly, I may have more. The rest of the system seems happy, and is a 4 hour drive from home, I'd rather not drive there to re-image if it's a simple fix. (In-laws house, no one techy to assist remotely)

      Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Got the error message again, now included below:

apply_patches.php is not part of pfSense_BASE. its is part of the system_patches package.
        you could try reinstalling/installing system_patches

if you really wish to manually copy:
        https://github.com/pfsense/FreeBSD-ports/tree/RELENG_2_3_0/sysutils/pfSense-pkg-System_Patches/files/usr/local/bin
