Firewall log file filter
-
Hi. I just upgraded to pfSense 2.31.
I can not seem to find the ability to search firewall logs. I always use the ability to search firewall logs to resolve issues.
It used to be under:
STATUS > SYSTEM LOGS > FIREWALL
Now the web gui shows the log files and the option to select Normal view, Dynamic view and Summary view.
Where is this now?

![pfsense system logs firewall old.png](/public/imported_attachments/1/pfsense system logs firewall old.png)

Click on the little "Funnel" icon in the upper rgt of the Firewall log screen to activate the filter screen.

Thank you. It took about 10 seconds for it to display the filter and my fault for not being patient. Thanks again.

No problem, it's a little bit of a sea-change getting used to the "new norm" brought in with 2.3.
All in all I have to say it's been a very positive update for me.
I finally bit the bullet and brought my large VLAN site across to 2.3.1 and it was a very smooth changeover.
Given I was planning an architecture change for 32-64bit at the same time, I was prepared for a full reinstall and reload of backups.
The reality was a single forced restart (completely expected with arch change) and all I had to do was reload a few packages.Clean and smooth, a pleasant change from the realities of software in the real world…...

On System > General you can check "Log Filter" to have that box always expanded. Due to its size it is hidden by default to keep the focus on the logs while keeping the controls at the top.
