After updating from 2.1.5 to 2.3.1 we received a lot of Syntax errors in /tmp/rules.debug….
They seem to be cause by the name or description starting with a number like "37" or "39".
After changing them in the interface GUI to "LAN37" everything was working.

Interface names canot be only numbers. That check was introduced in 2.2.something

What you did to fix your old dodgy names is good.

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."

          one more thing:
I was very happy to do the upgrae remotley, b/c the two if with syntax error were LAN if and my remote access via VPN was luckily still working.
So I was able to fix it easily !

          Thanks!
