      pfSense 2.3.1-1

      Here's the hardware: Aaeon GENE 9455 Rev.b (http://www.aaeon.com/en/p/3-and-half-inch-sbc-gene-9455-rev-b)

pfsense seem to lose one of the NIC when its powered off, then on again. It was able to detect only 1 NIC, but not both.
I had to restore factory defaults for it to work, but only for that one instance. If i "halt" the system (then power off for the move into closet), and power up again, it says I have only 1 NIC.

      Any ideas?

        Hi all,

I've narrowed down to this. seems like BIOS is randomly not assigning IRQ. Anyone have any ideas why this could happen?

        See screenshot:

Note the 2 NIC, then 1 NIC in another.

It's a hardware issue of some sort. Maybe a BIOS bug, or the NIC might be flaky. I'd look for a BIOS update.

            Thanks cmb,

seems like this board is obsolete and no bios updates are available..

guesss i'll start looking for new hardware…
