      Hello

If we try to download a daily snapshot from here:
      https://snapshots.pfsense.org/

      And then select:
      2.3.1 (amd64)
      EXPERIMENTAL pfSense 2.3.1 developers tree
      Installer Images (ISO, memstick)
      https://snapshots.pfsense.org/amd64/pfSense_RELENG_2_3/installer/?C=M;O=D

here, every link ends in Error 404, Not found.

We've already got this error about 2 weeks ago, and decided to wait until the next Snapshot will be created.

      Thanks a lot in advance,
      kind regards,
      Thomas

My guess is that they're rebuilding the snapshot machine(s).  Snapshots started failing on Jun 10th. I am almost certain the latest snapshot (pfSense-CE-2.3.2-DEVELOPMENT-amd64-20160609-1724) was there about 6 hours ago.

Hopefully they can fix it (or are fixing it as I write this here) as time allows and make snapshot builder run smooth again.

There are no snapshots at the moment. Those are just links to the latest build, when there is no latest, they're 404. They'll be back sometime in the next week or so. There are no problems, we've just stopped the snapshot builders.

            Hi cmb

thank you very much for your explanation!

Because you are an Administrator: are you sure it's a good concept to delete Snapshots and keep the website linking to them?
I really hope pfsense get benefits from offering developer Snapshots because users are testing the software. (At least, this was my motivation to use the developer builds).

Therefore I have a proposal (and I don't expect an answer):

Why not rename "Daily Snapshots" to "Developer Snapshots" and keep the Snapshots online until the next build process was successful and replaces the old Snapshots?

            This allows

            • developers to create public snapshots if it's time to do so

            • users to test the latest available snapshots

            Kind regards,
            Tom

The cleanup script just cleans up anything older than X days, with no consideration for whether or not that's going to blow away all the remaining snapshots. Yeah it ought to be improved to not blow away the last set of snapshots if we've stopped builders for any reason.

Nice to see Snapshots are being generated again. Thanks for enabling them! :)

Also, it seems the number of PR's on GitHub is growing fast, maybe it would be a good idea to review some of them and provide feedback/merge to improve project/fix bugs on development tree.

                Thanks!

In the last few weeks the review and action on pull requests seems to have stopped. If ESF wants contributions from the community, then it would be good to promptly comment on them - even if just to have a quick look and say what the delay is.

The people who normally review them were at BSDCan and for some there were a few days of traveling before/after.
