2.3.1 (386) install ISO is not an Installer

I just downloaded 2.3.1 Installer for i386 ISO, wasted 3 blank DVDs, and it is not an installer.

Yes it is. What's it doing/not doing?

It does not have the i for install. Option 1 bootrs the root as ro.

2.3.x boots straight into the installer. What screen does it leave you on when it's booted up?

I get the menu with 1 Multi User, 2 Single User .

it should automatically boot into multi-user from there, you're saying it never passes that point?

Now I find that it loads into the installer. It is a Pentium III, it's just acting slow, and I was expecting to see the i for install prompt. Thanks for your help.
