      Like the title says :
Which brand and speed of Compact Flash (CF) card do you use in your Watchguard Firebox?
I have always used the 4Gb Kingston (normal speed) without any issues, but since pfSense 2.3
i have during boot a couple lines with the error :

ata0: timeout waiting for write DRQ

after these lines, the boot continues and pfSense 2.3.1p5 works okay,
but sometimes it occured, that pfSense got corrupted right before a reboot or shutdown.
At the next boot, it complanes about filesystem not shutting down correct,
bad blocks, php errors, access denied etc….
Sometimes it does a automatic repair and reboots after that fine, but sometimes it's unrepairable,
and i have to load a backup image on the CF card.
I have already tried 3 new CF cards, so i have a feeling that since pfSense 2.3 these normal speed of my CF cards is too low.

These errors occured in a Watchguard x550e and x750e model

Thanks in advance for tips and help by this.

The CF Cards mostly or normally are mounted as "read only" and so not many write cycles will be done.

          @BlueKobold:

Since version 2.3 the CF cards are now always mounted as "read/write" from bootup for preventing errors during use later.
Also this gives a better navigation speed in the Web UI , like before when u must manually change to read/write,
or configuration was at the speed of a turtle trough peanut butter.
The write cycles are still kept as low as possible thanks to the embedded design,
          only the mounting is changed.
But i have experience more errors that point to the CF, will these are brand new uit the package.
