Hardware needed for OpenVPN rig?
-
I use a VPN which uses Blowfish-CBC 128-bit encryption. It needs to handle over 100Mbps internet speeds, my current router can barely handle 10Mbps over OpenVPN.
I've been looking at the PfSense SG-2220 and some of the old computer parts around house to try and put something together, just wondering how much power I'd need?
I think I have an old AMD Phenom X4 rig lying around, would that be enough if I added 1gb nic to it?

Site-to-Site or remote user?? How many sessions you expect to run in the same time??

It's going to run a OpenVPN Client to connect to a privacy VPN, ~5 computers connect to an AP, that connects to the rig/pfsense box and then that connects to the 4G router.

Would love to also hear someone's input on this, I have 350Mbps connection, and I want to have a dedicated openvpn rig.
