Can't Install on Hard Disk
-
Hi,
We tried to install pfsense using a USB and fortunately made it but when we remove the USB and reboot, the pfsense won't load unless we plug in again the USB. Is there any way to install pfsense directly to physical hard disk?.
Thanks.

Could you provide us with a bit more detail? How does it fail and at what stage?

Not sure this is related, but I could not install v2.3.1-p5 from the ISO burnt to a DVD. I tried multiple times, with fail each time.
When I burnt the ISO to a CD, it installed fine.
Oh, and linking to the docs is not helpful at all, imo. ;-)

Unfortunately if you spend any appreciable time on the various boards you'll find that statement is not true.
Too many times we get the "HELP, I just installed and "xxxxx.yyyy doesn't work like I think it should" questions, when a little research through the docs can quickly resolve the issues. Often the issue is not a problem w/pfSense, but a misunderstanding of what is required to accomplish the task required.I don't think the docs are perfect by any stretch, but links to a key spot can avoid searching and point you in the right direction.
As in all things - advice is worth what you pay for it….....

But just a link with no other explanation is just a "polite" way of saying:
RTFM

We successfully installed pfsense, we just transferred it to different machine.
Thank you for all your response.
