Blocking / Routing traffic between sublans?

I'm currently planning out my first pfsense build. Does pfsense allow me to allow / block traffic between different sublans (which of course each sublan would require another network card). I was actually planning on layer 3 managed switch (cisco sb300). Hopefully pfsense can do this work which would save me some money. I plan to maybe put a quad port intel nic in my build.

Once you disable the any/any rules they'd be separated by the firewall and you'd have to add pass rules for any traffic that needs to go between them.
