      Dear all,
I am on the hunt for a new mini-itx board, it must support add-on Expansion Daughter module. At this point I have narrow my search to the following models:

      J7F5M-VDE Mini-ITX Motherboard Series

      -VIA CX700M Single chipset Technology
      -Support VIA C7 Nano-BGA processor
      -Support Front Side Bus 400/800MHz
-Single Channel DDR2 533 Memory DIMM
-Support 2 Serial ATA 2 Devices with RAID 0, 1
-Support PCI 120-Pin Adapter Conn. With Expansion Daughter-boards
      -Ethernet LAN Supported
      -6 Channel HD Audio CODEC
      -VIA VT6307 IEEE1394a Controller
      -VIA VT1622A TV Encoder
      -17 x 17CM Mini-ITX Form Factor

      J7F2 Mini-ITX Motherboard Series

      -VIA CN700 Northbridge + VT8237RP Southbridge Chipsets
      -Support VIA C7 Nano-BGA processor
      -Support Front Side Bus 400/800MHz
-Single Channel DDR2 533 Memory DIMM
-Support 2 Serial ATA Devices with RAID 0, 1
-Support 2xAD Connector With Expansion Daughter-boards
      -Ethernet LAN Supported
      -AC’97 6 Channel Audio CODEC
      -VIA VT6307S IEEE1394a Controller for J7F2E / J7F2WE
      -VIA VT1622A TV Encoder for J7F2W / J7F2WE
      -17 x 17cm Mini-ITX Form Factor

      J7F4K1G5D Mini-ITX Motherboard

      -VIA CN700 Northbridge + VT8237RP Southbridge Chipsets
      -Support VIA C7 Nano-BGA processor
      -Support Front Side Bus 400/800MHz
-Single Channel DDR2 533 Memory DIMM
-Support 2 Serial ATA Devices with RAID 0, 1
      -Dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN Supported
      -AC’97 6 Channel Audio CODEC
      -17 x 17cm Mini-ITX Form Factor

My primary concern is compatibility with FreeBSD and pfsense, it will serve for Firewall/VPN connectivity.

I use a Jetway J7F2WE1G2E with a three lan port daughter board. Works fine. The only thing not so good is that the Realtek lan ports generates a very high interupt load on the cpu. Max throughput for me is around 60mps.

Thank you for your input, I hope other people reply to this thread. I am really interested in testing this thing.

            I use a Jetway mini-itx board.

            Jetway J7F4K1G2E ( 7W / Fanless ) Bios A10 ( fixes HPET issues. And thermal control for 1.5ghz version )
            http://www.jetwaycomputer.com/spec/J7F4K1G2E.pdf

            • 1Gb ram ( minus 16Mb onboard video )
            • WD 15Gb ide drive.
            • 52x Aopen CD-Rom.
            • 2x onboard LAN ( Realtek, 8110SC( L ) 1Gbit )

tip: IDE on both CD-Rom and HDD when mounted inside the case is nearly impossible.
I used a 100CM IDE cable that came with my Tt Mozart-TX big-tower in Reverse!
Longest part between CD-Rom and HDD and the shortest part between mainboard and CD-Rom.
The short part of that cable is longer than most 90CM of 60CM cables!

Works out of the box with 1.2, and now upgraded and testing 1.2.1 RC1 snapshots.
( example, smoothwall express 3.0 is not working out of the box, because of realtek chips.
I had to build drivers with a VM developer build to get realtek chips working. )

I use this at home, with a couple of computers and consoles.
We have a 16Mbit Down /3Mbit Up Cable connection. ( at time of posting )

            Here is my dmesg output:

              Hi Tikimotel,
Thank you so much for your input. We already have two testers with two different models. I am waiting to see if someone have the results for the J7F5M which has a VIA CX700M. I am hoping to get this one, just waiting in someone results at this point. Come on guys shoot me your input in reference to this board. Thank you all in advance for all your help.

I have J7F4K1G2E and BIOSTAR GF8200 M2+ based pfsense installations. It took me quite a while to get the Jetway to work with the 2 NIC installation. The MoBo has two NICs (although Realtek, they work fine for now) and I couldn't add the third thru the PCI extender. I tried several NICs (including Intel dual NICs). No luck. Still couldn't figure it out. In the end, I added a USB NIC and made it work. So far so good.

If you have better experience with the JetWay additional NICs, please let me know so I implement the same settings.
