      Hi,

I use some pfSense-Installations on SSDs.
Usually there's not too many write-operations on it, so TRIM-ing isn't often neccessary.

As I found out, it's not easy to enable auto-TRIM. I would be fine with being able to do it manually.

BUT: Is there a way to do it? I couldn't find a command to do it and "fstrim" isn't available on pfSense.

      Greetings.

I gloomily came to the ironic conclusion that if you take a highly intelligent person and give them the best possible, elite education, then you will most likely wind up with an academic who is completely impervious to reality.

I saw that Thread and was able to enable TRIM on one of my machines as a first try.
Problem is: I don't physically access the machines very often, as some of them a pretty far away…
That's why I asked for a "quick and dirty" solution for the moment.

Quick & dirty solution is the following shown in the link above! No other well known
            solution is there out.

Alright, I'll have to enable it the next time, I'm in the datacenters…

              Danke dir ;-)
