      I have two pfsense  servers and only only external IP on a DSL modem.  Currently the modem is bridge and my primppary pfsense server has the extenal IP.  Is there a way to configure it so if I have one server fail the other will take over, I guess in a way like a clustered configuration.

        CARPDEV does this, but it is not yet working on FreeBSD. For now, you will need at least three public IPs for a CARP cluster.
