Pfsense blocks traffic on and off

hello,
i may call this strange however recently i ungraded our  pfsense  from 2.1 to 2.3v, after i installed snort package  and worked on the configurations

since it was my first time, i tried all the cons and traffics issues to get it work fine. adding rules and filtering the suppress lists and blocks. at last i manged to at least i managed to get back my internet traffic back.

Now the problem comes,
at any time when everything is fine
1. i cannot browser (pages cannot be accessed with error, dns failed to resolve)
2. i cannot ping any internet site
3. i cannot ping the firewall IP address but i can ping any other IP on the subnet
4. i cannot log on to the firewall graphical interface.
5. my skype gets disconnected

Then after some time (i haven't kept ken if the time it goes of and on is uniform) it comes back about 20-40min.
and everything seem to work well.
last thing is that i can open the console on the physical  computer.

Please i know you would wish to have a few settings on my firewall and am ready to answer you.

am wondering of there is any one trying to help otherwise am still waiting though after stopping the snort service on WAN the traffic become stable. giving me a a reason where the problem is.
