I want to know if it is possible to add a feature for Virtual IPs that lets me specify a different MACID for that Virtual IP.

I know CARP is supposed to accomplish something similar, but firstly it isn't working for me at all, and secondly I'd like to be able to specify a specific MACID and not have to rely on however CARP creates the MACID.

CARP VIPs will receive traffic for an alternate MAC but none will send using an alternate MAC. There isn't any way to accomplish that currently, short of using a separate physical interface. There would not be a way to support such an option in the OS even if it was in the GUI.

It is for the single interface MAC address, not several.
