RRD Graphs: Quality

Overmyhead

The RRD Graphs in my pfSense have been showing a steady decline in quality. Once at 50% they are now in the 20%. Recently they have started to show a severe packet loss. Is this some thing in my network or from my ISP?

If it is me, I would appreciate some hints on where to look.

If it is my ISP, would appreciate the right language to tell them where to look for solutions.

The graphs are measuring the quality of the connection between your WAN and your upstream gateway. There is no special language to use when calling your ISP. Just tell them what you're seeing and ask for an explanation.

Don't rule out that the gateway itself just doesn't like responding to pings. While highly correlated, some hardware accelerated devices can forward packets fine, but actually responding to pings requires the severely limited host CPU to do work.
