Connecting PFsense to a TP-link AC1200 ADSL router

I gone through many of the post and tryed every thing i could think off but i cannot get my pfsense server to  connect to the internet using my TP-Link ac1200 modem/Router.
on the modem i have
1. disabled the DHCP server
2. disabled the firewall
3. set it into bridge mode

but it is still not giving me a basic connection to the net.  :( :(
I have even reinstall pfsense while it was connected to the modem no good

the pfsense box is a Dell r200 with a quad nic

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do next
