Pfsense and Untangle in Bridge mode…unable to connect internet..please help
-
Need some advise on the following setup, please.
Currently I would like to setup the Pfsense as firewall and Untangle to filter. Both PF and UT are set in Bridge mode. May be my configuration is wrong, I cannot get them to connect to Wan.
If I use PFsense only in bridge mode, Lan can access to internet traffic :D
If I use Untangle only in bridge mode, Lan can also connect to internet traffic :DBut once I have Pfsense and Untangle together in the network, I cannot access internet traffic.
The pfsense Internal Nic and Untangle Wan Nic do not seems to have connection. I have already change a number of cables and tried to use cross cable…but still not work. :-\Internet

Hello,
But once I have Pfsense and Untangle together in the network, I cannot access internet traffic.
The pfsense Internal Nic and Untangle Wan Nic do not seems to have connection. I have already change a number of cables and tried to use cross cable…but still not work. :-\just a curiousity, what happend if you put another switch between pfSense and UT? Does link come up?
–-router---pfSense---(switch)---UT---
Will you check once again auto-nego, or you can force to configure, say 100-full at each side.
While you're struggling to get link works, did you see any messages/logs on both pfSense and UT boxes? pfSense usually gives you a log when you plug/unplug the cable, did you see that? Same thing at UT side, any logs/messages seen?
cheers,

Dear nocer,
You are absolutely right about the forcing the config to 100-full duplex instead of Auto-nego.
I can now access from the Lan to the Internet.
Many Thanks for your advise.
Best Regards,
David
