    Alert message in system general log

      I deploy pfSense as the router. Recently, I found that there are long lists of same alert messages in system general log. pls help check if there is something wrong with my system. And what can I do to fix that. Thanks.

      The messages is as below:
      nginx: 2016/10/08 09:52:00 [alert] 9983#100131: send() failed (40: Message too long)

      system version: 2.3.2-RELEASE (amd64)
      1 port WAN and 3port LAN configured

        Same here, getting a lot of these notices choking up the log files  >:(

        Setup a syslog server and the OS dumps the same stupid error and never tells you the long message error!

          Usually those specific errors are a side effect of clients sending unexpected things to a captive portal web server process.

          Those log messages, and others like them, can be turned off: Status > System Logs, Settings tab, uncheck "Log errors from the web server process".
